My master Aija Jurjane was speechless when she saw the painting Happiest Grandmothers.
In the middle of the painting class Jurjane came to me and shook my hand, and, without saying a word, left the class. Later she came back and told the class that most artists fail what I have achieved here - to paint large-scale heads. If she knew upfront what I was painting she would stop me early because of how challenging it is. But now... the outcome left her speechless.
I started this painting in 2003, left it on the side, and finished it in 2004 while studying at JRRMV.
